One of my favorite clients wanted to do a special photo shoot with her daughters for her 10th wedding anniversary. She wanted to take some photos in her wedding dress as a surprise for her husband, and then do some shots of just the girls. I loved this idea, and I think we found the perfect location in a gorgeous garden. We were so excited to find a robin’s egg, newly hatched, in the grass. It was a magical day. I love the idea of having a photo in your wedding gown with your girls so they can see how beautiful you looked on your wedding day!
I had so much fun in Old Town with this family. They made having four children look easy! I love photographing big families. It’s neat to see the connections between the siblings, and also between the parents and each child. I always love to get a photograph of each parent with each child so that the child has it as they get older. I love my job and the fact that people let me see the love they share for one another.
Had such a blast with this FUN family. Made me miss my sister. I love photographing sisters!!
It was a chilly day, but we had a great time capturing some fun family moments at the Capitol in Washington, DC. These kids were so funny and fun to photograph!
The end of February/beginning of March is always so hard to get through!! It feels like spring will never arrive! I love snow, so I wish it would either snow a lot or just warm up and be nice enough to go outside and play. Today it was rainy and sleeting/raining. I love this shot. Kind of pensive and quiet. Just how I was feeling today.
It was the middle of January, but luckily we had a fairly warm day (if mid 50s is warm!) to do this fun shoot in Old Town for “Save the Date” pictures. This fun couple is getting married in Miami in January 2014, so I was just happy it wasn’t snowing in these pictures! Although, that could have made for a funny “Save the Date” card!
I love how laid back and down to earth they were. You can tell that they are good friends. I loved hearing about their engagement, too, which included a horse drawn carriage!
This was a special shoot for me because I understand the special bond between a mom and son. This age is wonderful because little boys are full of energy, but they are old enough to talk, listen and engage. But they also love to laugh, tell jokes, and have fun. We had a great time together, and their love really came through in the photos.
I had the pleasure of photographing these sweet kiddos last year. This year we went to Georgetown for a FUN family photo session. My favorite things about this session:
1. I was thrilled that they asked for an urban, funky, edgy feel to their photographs.
2. Their energy: I could have photographed them all day because their connection was so strong and they were willing to try anything!
3. The brother/sister shots: I love photographs of children when they’re not looking at the camera. We got some great ones here!
4. The details: love their adorable shoes/boots, and there are so many details in their photos that touch my heart: the way the little girl’s hand rests on her brother’s leg, a dimple, a little twinkle in the eye. Those are the things I love to capture.
